El Paso County Sheriff's deputy resigns, later arrested for soliciting sex act from detainee

A former El Paso County Sheriff’s deputy has been arrested May 6 on a charge of improper sexual activity with person in custody and tampering with physical evidence.

According to the sheriff’s office, a female who had been arrested by Deputy Reuben Rodriguez said that Rodriguez had solicited a sex act from her when she was being transported to the County Jail the morning of May 3.​
