    A woman who claims a Stillwater police officer injured her left elbow in a scuffle after Lumberjack Days 2010 has settled her lawsuit against the city. Katherine Liend sued Officer Brad Allen in U.S. District Court in 2011, alleging that Allen violated her federal civil rights by using excessive force on her ... Liend's arm was injured when Allen wrenched her left arm behind her back, Bennett said. She suffered a "near complete left elbow dislocation that included a fracture and disruption of tendons and ligament," he said. She had to have surgery and missed more than a month of work, according to the complaint filed in U.S. District Court.

    A woman who says she suffered a fracture in a scuffle with a Stillwater police officer has settled her lawsuit claiming excessive force.

    Katherine Liend sued Officer Brad Allen in federal court in 2011, alleging he violated her civil rights by using excessive force at a bar in downtown Stillwater in 2010. Liend's attorney, Robert Bennett, says she has settled her claim for $150,000.

    A woman who says she suffered a fracture in a scuffle with a Stillwater police officer has settled her lawsuit claiming excessive force. Katherine Liend sued Officer Brad Allen in federal court in 2011, alleging he violated her civil rights by using excessive force at a bar in downtown Stillwater in 2010.

    Police responded to a fight at the former Cherry Bowl bar that involved Liend's friend. As Allen started to arrest her friend, Liend struck the officer. Bennett tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press his client suffered a fracture and tendon and ligament damage when Allen wrenched her arm behind her back. A complaint says Liend missed more than a month of work and underwent surgery.
