Dallas Morning News: UPDATE: Irving roadside body cavity search case to go to Dallas grand jury

Two Irving women are suing two state troopers and the head of their department in federal court, alleging they were subjected to an illegal and humiliating “roadside body cavity search” during a traffic stop. Angel Dobbs, 38, and her niece, Ashley Dobbs, 24, said the search occurred on State Highway 161 in or near Irving on the night of July 13. They claim that a female trooper, Kelley Helleson, used her fingers to search their anuses and vaginas — using the same latex glove — while on the side of the road in full view of passing vehicles.

The same head bozo that seems to think killing innocent people from helicopters is the latest advance in law enforcement:

The women also are suing Steven McCraw, director of the Texas Department of Public Safety, saying he was aware of previous problems and complaints about “unlawful strip searches, cavity searches and the like” yet failed to do anything about it.

brazenly doing this in front of the video cam as if it is standard procedure. for no reason.
nothing was found. lawsuit, big time lawsuit and people fired. what kind of country are we living in? I'm stilled stunned by this. By the brazen nature of it. The copette was prepared for this gloves and all. How many times per day is this happening in that backward state?

looked around and there are stories all over the web on this including Texas media. This is huge, it is a federal case (big, big $$$), and state authorities are looking into it OUTSIDE of the texas rangers. There's a chance these clowns doing the cavity search could see the inside of a jail.

Didn't that search meet the definition of rape per FBI?

Yep. Here's betting the ladies never would have sued if the perp had been charged. I wouldn't have sued, as long as the perp was charged with her crime. No charges filed against the two officers would have been a sign to me that the entire system needed adjustment.

BTW, the whole world has noticed this incident. People all over the globe are shocked and disgusted. Congratulations Kelley Helleson, you're world famous:

Betjent stikker finger op i to kvinder

Doesn't that sound lovely in Danish?
  7. And all because the cops hoped to find some marijuana.

Stick her finger op. Yep the Danes have a way with words...

"Her" is not in the Danish. "Stikker" is the verb, and only the verb.

The literal Danish here is: Police officer (betjent) sticks (stikker) finger (itself) up (op) into (i) two (to) women (kvinder).

Tell me again why tourism is off in the U.S. Who in his/her right mind would want to visit this emerging police state?

If I were younger, I'd leave.

It does -- any degree of vaginal or anal pentration by any object is now counted as a rape in FBI crime statistics.

And these bad cops need to keep in mind that it is a justifiable self-defense to to kill a rapist. I won't be cryi8ng much when one of them gets a bullet in the head as she's pulling on her gloves alongside the highway.

Hoping that the ladies attorney pushes that issue. The female trooper for rape and the male as an accessory.

I think a lot of this has been happening for a long time. Advances in communications (internet) and electronics & optics (cell phones & greatly miniaturized optics) are the game changers here.

Today we can document what's happening and learn about it in real time. 30-40 years ago the smallest practical camera (half-frame 35mm) was still the size of your wrist, and Readers Guide to Periodical Literature (remember learning about that in school?) had not yet been pushed aside by Google.

A rape charge is unlikely to happen. It's considered a rape only for FBI crime-stat reporting purposes. Few if any jurisdictions include that in their definition of rape as crime.

Agree with Mike that it's been a long, slow slog to get to this point.

I remember just before NINE ELEVEN! when a very good friend's troublemaker brother was picked up by the cops for something. He wasn't and isn't a bad guy, he's just mouthy. Well, cops don't like that. It was a small town, and he was known, so they just wanted to show who's boss.

The things I heard that they did to him, and done in a way so as not to "leave marks", effectively making him a liar, was chilling. It was right then and there that I realized cops are not here to help us. That eye opening experience makes more and more sense every time I see a story like this one.

These "people" have to be psychopaths. I mean, seriously, she didn't think this would get recorded?

the copette who assaulted these two women made it a point to do this in front of the video cam. She asked the male cop if she could use his video cam instead of hers on her vehicle as it was further away. sick ...... they didn't think they did anything wrong. It was obviously, in their minds, a standard procedure.

I know that Mike. Playing on the words.... jag ar svensk.
  18. I think a doctor using the same gloves on a woman's anus THEN her vagina, and then the same on a second patient, would lose license and would certainly face malpractice charges. I hope this part of the story doesn't get lost in the fact that the search was a fourth amendment violation. The state health department should really be looking into that element of the story.
