  1. Here are the 9 reports of police misconduct tracked for Wednesday, December 12, 2012:
    • Raton, New Mexico: A police officer [Richard Garcia, 23] has resigned following a recent gathering at his home that allegedly involved underage drinking.
    • Oakland, California: A college instructor and activist [Robert Ovetz, 35] who was thrown to the ground by police [Ercivan Martin, two others identified in lawsuit only as Oakland officers Beaver and O'Connor; Officer Beaver is probably Sgt. Michael Beaver; Officer O'Conner is most likely Officer Charles O'Connor] and struck twice with a baton during an Occupy protest has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit.
    • Atlanta, Georgia: A police officer[Bernett Collins, 43] was convicted of sexually assaulting a then 13-year-old girl while he was on-duty. He was sentenced to five years probation and must register as a sex offender.
    • Camden, New Jersey: A retired police sergeant [Dan E. Morris, 49] was sentenced to eight months in federal prison for his admitted role as the supervising officer of a corrupt anti-drug squad that stole cash, conducted illegal searches, planted drugs and falsified reports.
    • Muncie, Illinois: City police are investigating reports that a police officer and a former police chief and current 911 director [Joe Winkle] physically assaulted two men at a bar.
    • Bal Harbour, Florida: The police chief [Thomas Hunker, 61] was suspended with pay after a report was released by the Department of Justice. The report slams the police agency for allegedly misspending millions in drug money seized from criminals. The report fingers the police chief for professional misconduct.
    • Decambre, Louisiana: A police officer [Ernest Billiot, 53] faces up to 40 years in prison after his conviction on charges of sexual battery and second-degree kidnapping for inappropriately touching a woman he had detained.
    • Indian River County, Florida: An officer [James H. Scharfschwerdt, 55] has been charged with three counts of lewd and lascivious battery toward male children between the ages of 12 and 16. He has been accused of giving children alcoholic beverages and then molesting them.
    • Berkshire County, Massachusetts: A deputy [Paula M. Baratto, 41] is facing drunken driving and harassment charges in New York following a traffic stop, according to information recently released by New York law enforcement officials.
