Iowa Waterloo Police officer Mark Nissen and city sued in federal court over tasing a man in 2010

Wow, this is ridiculous. Did this guy speak English well? It sounds like there may have been a language barrier. I wonder if cops are trained for these sorts of things, apparently not.

Yea, you're right. I was just wondering if there was a language barrier because I know cops will take that as an advantage that they can get away with even more brutality because they wrongly assume the victim is "stupid".

These are the stories that I find so disturbing because it could happen to any innocent citizen who is trying to mind their own business. It scares the (expletive deleted) out of me.

Wow. I definitely agree with the basis of the lawsuit - that the officer used excessive force and that the department obviously didn't train its officers very well. I feel so bad for the guy, because he was basically tasered and arrested for smoking a cigarrette!!!

That's exactly what scares me. You just never know where or when something is going to happen and these guys have no self control. This is why we need to speak out and not stand for this kind of unnecessary excessive force anymore.
